So here we go… going to try this concept. So I’m going to be “logging” from the battle field and hopefully I can make it interesting. I’ll tag all of these stories as SITG (Spot in the Game) so if you DO like these for some reason, you can easily find them all via that method. Warning: These segments will have naughty naughty language. Not sure if you game, but any gamer knows that when in the heat of battle, language concerns are the last of your mind. So this a recreation of the entire experience. Here we go: (After the jump)

Dawn of War - Space MarinesGame: Warhammer 40k: Dawn of War

Setting: Skirmish – Me VS Computer

Race/Class: Space Marines

Match Time: 40:32

Difficulty: Standard

Notes: This was my first time ever actually playing the Space Marines. I usually play the Imperial Guard. Considering that everything I’ve been reading about the Space Marines paints them as the easiest class… I feel bad about the outcome of this story. Sound was also muted cause I was too lazy to crank it up.

*We’ve arrived at this icy stand-off. Why on this icy frigid planet we need to hold a box canyon is beyond me. However, we do what is asked and we do it well! I’ve ordered the Servitors to build me a barracks while I send out the scouts to capture critical points and resources. So far so smooth.

*The barracks have been built, and I’ve requested a steady stream of Space Marines. These guys come in force! I have the Servitors building multiple Power Generators so that we’re set on power needs.

*Ding! Generators are DONE! Barracks are full, we cannot house any more marines, and they’re standing guard in case they try to rush us. Haven’t even seen the enemy yet.

*Servitors are working on an Armory & Machine Cult while the Monastery is upgrading. There’s the enemy… what the hell are those things?? Little alien guys running around! Ah well. Marines just completely annihilated them. W00t to the Space Marines!

*All the listening posts are up and functional, most of them upgraded and NOW we get a taste of the real enemy! They have freaking tanks! It’s the Imperial Guard! I thought I recognized those wheeled demons! Sending out all my space marines and their Force Commander! We’ve got this!

*Well… that was bloody. So the platoon still stands… kind of. Reinforcing the poor bastards. Where the hell are the new Marines?? Got my tanks around now, some Dreadnoughts ready to put on some hurt! Getting sergeants replaced now.

*Well… that didn’t go well. They’ve got it heavily forted down with the heavy weaponry turrets built in around the battle line! Dammit… now I gotta just rely on my Orbital Relay unit until they’re reinforced.

*… Where the fuck are my Space Marine Backups??? You gotta be kidding me. Due to a digital error they were not automatically deploying!! Dammit… there goes the barracks. They’ve snuck in the tanks and they can hit my base from the ground. Tossing everything I can at them.

*NO! … Servitor down, now nothing’s getting built maybe I can hustle and… fuck. Game over. Reviewing the map afterwards… oh that’s some horse shit. They had the same amount of resources but they were just building everything out in a fortified fashioned so now I know what to expect.

*Well… dammit. So, with the Imperial Guard marching through my damned camp, it’s over. I’d raise the flag but they tore the hell out of the flag pole.

*Alright, that’s it, tomorrow they’re going down. MARK MY WORDS! Specifically going to setup the match to face them again!

There you have it… the first entry in the Spot in the Game.  Soon to come more, especially after that crap.
